A lot goes into the branding of a new business - tonnes of time, research, brainstorming, planning and that's before anything is even created. Brand identity is so important in business. It represents what the entire business is about. It does the communicating before you even have a chance to talk about what you do. It's your calling card, so it has to be good.
Father's day is fast approaching (Sunday 6th September in case you want to put it in your calendar) and it's time to think about how to impress your Dad or husband. It doesn't have to be extravagent either. At the end of the day, the whole point is to show him he is valued and loved.
Choosing a gift can be difficult, especially when it's for a man. Us women are very vocal about things we like and hinting (subtly and sometimes not subtly) at items we would love to own. Men? I ask this question, because I had a beautiful experience this week, surprising someone I love, with an unexpected gesture. She had been having a rough couple of days full of more bad than good. I hung up the phone wondering what I could do to help lift her spirits. I wanted her to know how loved and appreciated she is, by me.
I love that I get to share my week to week Man Mail behind the scenes with you on this journal. This week I had a chat with the gents from the incredibly popular and cleverly curated website, Man of Many. This site really is a go-to for any man, about any topic, so to say I'm thrilled to be on their esteemed pages is an understatement!
When deciding what to include in the curated boxes of Man Mail, I had a really good think about some of the best mens products that had crossed my Designer Man Cave path. I also thought about if these products would make a good gift for a gent. The product that ticked both these boxes is Mike Campbell's Unleash Your Alpha Book.
I have to admit, I got some funny looks when I started telling people I wanted to set up another business (2 businesses!? Am I crazy?? Yes). Following the success Designer Man Cave, I noticed there was a massive gap in the online market place. It's always been in the back of my mind to set up some type of online store component linked to what I do, but it was last December that it went from the back of my mind, to front and centre.
